A super umbrian. Ripe cherries and crowberries. Some muscat and other warm spices. Secondary aromas of leather, sweet liquorice and cigar box. super round, full bodied and creamy with soft but unmistakeable tannins. i have yet to meet a person who does not like the l’arringatore.
a good, fatty rib eye steak with bernaise sauce
l’arringatore is named after the famous bronze statue found in a vineyard by the little town of pila, where this wine is grown. the idea behind the name-giving was that the orator had a lot to say, and after a few glasses of l’arringatore, so will you. the wine is aged in barrique for 14-16 months, depending on the vintage.
our friends at cantina goretti are currently in their fourth generation of wine makers. with two wineries, one in pila and the other in montefalco, they are the perfect balance between innovation and tradition.
