the very light colour gives little indication of what is to come. classic pinot noir red fruits on the nose – somewhere between raspberry and redcurrant. you’ll also find strawberries, tobacco and the scent of a newly sharpened pencil. the palate is dominated by the redcurrant with a delicious balance between juicy fruit, cut through with just the right level of acidity and light tannin holding everything together. the sweet feel of the fruit and bone dry minerality result in a beautiful combo.

this wine is wonderful on it’s own but can absolutely hold to lots of different types of food. Try it with chicken breast with grilled tomatoes and leek.
the italian version of the ever-so-popular pinot noir. lightly oaked which gives refinement and some secondary aromas. drink slightly chilled.
the weger estate was founded in 1820 and six generations later, is still a family business. the estate lies in south tyrol, just below the alpine mountains. the high altitude and cool climate produces wines different from everything else in italy, more reminiscent of austrian wine.
